Christmas 2009

Christmas morning started off at our house with the traditional reading of the Christmas story. Then my parents came and Chase went out to see everything Santa brought. He did not know what to think at first.
Then he noticed that Santa didn't eat all of his cookies and left him a note. The note reminded Chase that Santa is watching him all the time. It was also a birthday card for Jesus. After this, Chase got excited and started playing with all the toys Santa left. Again, he opened and played with everything he got. Chase got a batman cave, bat car, a boat (one of his favorites), games, books, and a few other things . Chase played for a little while. Then we headed to Gi Gi and Big Daddy's house.
When we got to Gi Gi and Big Daddy's house, Chase had a surprise. After he opened all his presents, he got a map. (At Disney, Chase wanted a map at all the parks and would look and decide where he wanted to go next.) He had to follow it to his surprise.
First, he had to go down the stairs... down more stairs, out the basement door...
open the trailer (he LOVES this trailer)...
SURPRISE!!!
Chase did not know what to do or think! We told him to get in and drive, he drove it right down the ramps and was so excited!
Big Daddy and Chase
It was freezing cold outside so he didn't ride for long. When we went back inside, he kept wanting to follow the map over and over! Every time he did the map, he rode for a few minutes. I think next year he needs another map! What a great Christmas:-)

Christmas Eve was spent with my parents, grandmother, aunt, uncles, and cousins. Chase opened up all his presents quickly (in seconds). After each present was opened, he went back, opened, and played with EACH thing he got. It was so sweet! He LOVED every single thing. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful family! The best part of the day...spending time with all of these people....:-)

Top 10 Disney Memories

These are my favorite memories from our Disney trip.

1. Plane Ride We left early Saturday morning for the airport. This was Chase's first plane ride and he LOVED it!! His face was glued to the window until we got above the clouds. He asked 100 questions about how everything worked and had a blast!

2. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
We spent the rest of the day at the Magic Kingdom.Chase is a dare devil and not scared of anything. He rode all the rides at Disney that he could...most were 40 inches, but a few were 44 and 48. He loved Thunder Mountain Railroad...we would get off and get right back on. He rode with his arms up in the air and giggled the entire time:-)

3. Splash Mountain
Gi Gi and I wore our ponchos, Rob didn't ride, and Chase and Big Daddy got wet!! They were ready! Again, Chase just giggled anytime we went down hill. He loved it!

4. Test Track Chase also loved Test Track at Epcot. Every time the car would speed up, he would scream and giggle. He also enjoyed waiting in line where he could look and learn all about cars.

5. Car Show
When the car show was over at Hollywood Studios Chase burst into tears. He said, "I don't want it to be over!" Needless to say, Big Daddy and Daddy took him back to see this show. It was really neat...his favorite part, when the guy was on fire.

6. Tower of Terror
Chase loved this ride...he rode it at least 10 times. The lines were not long at all so he kept riding it! He would laugh and giggle every time the elevator went down or the doors opened! It was really cute:-)
7. Chef Mickey's We ate at Chef Mickey's on Chase's birthday. It was perfect. All the characters came out to meet him and he loved it! After dinner we went back to Hollywood Studios to let him ride his favorite ride...the Tower of Terror:-) Chase also got to pick out some souvenirs from our trip with his $68.00 gift card from Disney for his birthday!

8. Parades
Chase's favorite part of the parade was when they got stuck. They had to bring a special machine out to tow the floats. They broke down right in front of us and he loved it!!!

9. Playgrounds

The playgrounds were great for us too! Chase got to run off some of his energy! This child needed some time to run around and PLAY!!!

10. Face Painting
At the Animal Kingdom, Chase thought he wanted to have his face painted so we let him choose a face and have it painted. This lasted all of 5 minutes! After he had his picture made, he wanted it off! So, needless to say this was the only time he had his face painted. I guess with his allergies it made his face itch! Oh well, it was fun while it lasted:-)
This is one of my favorites...Chase taking a nap! This child fell asleep on the train, on the boat, and on the bus. We had a great time but, I am glad to be home to get some rest:-)

Dear Santa,

I have been a very good boy this year. I want money, boat, motor home, shop, trailer, Batman Cave, Batmans (his word), Batman Car, and dog bone candy. Take care of your workshop. I love you, Santa. Love, Chase
I love how Chase is asking for things I have never seen in stores! He wants a white trailer with a door on the side and at the end, a motor home, and a shop that the motor home fits in. He wants the shop to have offices on one side and a motor home garage on the other side. He wants these things because Big Daddy has them. I love Chase's imagination about the things he sees and wants. I told him that he needs to choose things he's seen in a store. His answer, " Santa can make them in his workshop!" Oh, no! Not sure what we are going to do!
We have really been talking to Chase about Christmas and the true meaning of Christmas. I want Chase to understand that it's not a holiday all about toys...it's a holiday all about Jesus. We are working hard on this concept.

A few Christmas pictures of Chase...he was in a great mood this morning so I had to take advantage of the opportunity. He usually isn't still enough when the camera is out:-)

Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving at my Grandmother's house. Chase enjoyed playing with Jackson, but loved playing with the big boys (my two cousins and Rob).It was fun to watch him play football. He loved getting the ball and running! If someone was about to get him, he would throw the football over the fence. We had a great Thanksgiving and have LOTS to be thankful for!

Thanksgiving Feast

Chase had his Thanksgiving Feast at school today. He has been with Gi Gi since Wednesday night. He came home for a little while on Sunday and spent the night with us and went back to her house on Monday. She brought him to the feast today and then took him back with her. He enjoyed the weekend at the motor home and Alabama game and then enjoyed being at his Gi Gi's house. Chase and Gi Gi

He was proud to show this to us! We had so much fun at his feast and watching him play with all his friends. He would not pose or smile for the camera today:-(

Trick or Treating

The whole gang! These boys loved giving out candy!
Saturday night we trick or treated with some friends. After a little while of trick or treating, Chase and Riggs went back to the house with their daddies. They liked passing out candy to the trick or treaters the best!

Trunk or Treat

Batman Chase
Chase (batman) and Riggs (wolverine)
This is the first Halloween that I let Chase pick out his costume and he chose batman! We went to Trunk or Treat at our church last night and had a great time. After dinner, Chase decided that he did not want to wear his costume anymore. So thankfully, he had his clothes on under his costume. He trunk or treated in his costume and rode all the rides in his clothes. He was also very hyper and ran all over the parking lot.

Pumpkin Carving

Rob took the day off yesterday to carve a pumpkin with Chase's class. Chase enjoyed having Rob and I come to his classroom for an activity. The class voted on a pumpkin face and Rob carved it. Of course the entire time Rob was carving Chase was right underneath him. Too sweet!

Alabama Game

Chase loves football season because he LOVES the motor home! We decided to let him miss a soccer game and enjoy a long weekend in Tuscaloosa. He went down to Tuscaloosa on Thursday morning with my parents in the motor home. When I talked to him on Thursday, he told me that he got to ride in the front seat on the way down, in his car seat. He also told me that for his birthday he wants a motor home. On Saturday morning he went to the parade and Saturday night, without a nap, he went to the ball game.

Chase was so excited that they had a football player for him to put his head in. He told Aunt Julie real quick, that he could not put his head in the girl cheerleader.

These two kids love each other!

Chase, Big Daddy, Aunt Julie, and Ashlyn enjoying the parade!

Chase spent most of weekend on his big wheel! He loved riding it around!
His favorite part, riding down this hill. Look at that face...he would pull his legs up and scream going down the hill. It was really funny!
Ready for the game!
I enjoyed spending some time with this precious girl! We don't get to see her nearly enough!
Chase loved the game. When Chase heard the announcement about a "time out" he started telling everyone about the tiger chair at school. It is where they sit for "time out." He also hollered whatever the men were hollering behind him which included "Go, Run, That's Holding, and Roll Tide!" I sure am glad that the men were using good language. He also wanted to know everytime Julio Jones was on the field. We may let him miss another soccer game to go back=)
